happy father's day papi

Here is a picture baby avery, his dad (my brother chad), our dad, and grandpa...4 generations! Father's are GREAT!

When it’s mother’s day we here all about it and see tons of tributes and blogs about mothers. We don’t hear as much about fathers…why not? Aren’t they just as important? I’d like to write about my father….aka papi. He has managed to provide for his family of 7 kids. Even while going to school. I have absolutely no idea how it happened, but he did it. He never really taught his kids how to fish or fix a car, but he DID teach us the best of all, to live steadfast in Christ. He and my mom have done an amazing job teaching us kids the way of Christ. Whether it be reading the scriptures/church material, saying prayers, going to the full 3 hrs of church every week, fulfilling callings, etc. The biggest example to me is my dad waking us up every morning (with his stupid trumpet noise) at 6-7am for family scriptures and prayer. I have the hardest time getting my own little family started on this. I hope to be as faithful and steadfast as my parents. On that note: dad I miss you, your dancing, your angry growling and just laughing together. You're a great dad, husband to marmee and an awesome grand-papa....especially to my dogs, and one day to my kids! Growing up (in my rebellious years) I never really appreciated your doings. I now know you wanted the best for me, and loved me. Thank you. So happy late Father’s day! Hands together..."LOVE YA!!!!!"

Wow, what a great dad! I always knew you would come to your senses. However, I have always loved you. You are an awesome daughter, a great caring and giving person, with great talents you have developed over the years. One of my fondest memories is that we would always call you Jillynie Pooh. At your baptismal interview with the bishop as he filled out the form he asked if you had a middle name. You said yes. Mom and I looked at each other cause we didn't remember giving you a middle name. He asked you what it was and you said Pooh. Mom and I just broke into laughter. Keep up the great work on your home and life. I love you! Dad
